New On the Shelf

Members may check out the following new items from the FIC Library:

What Got You Here Won’t Get You There: How successful people become even more successful! By Marshall Goldsmith, 2007.

This New York Times Bestseller helps you take a look at what may be holding you back in your career and/or personal life. Goldsmith takes a practical look at behaviors and offers suggestions on how to change. Such as the CEO who sent out his company’s mission and direction in an e-mail. When asked how many employees opened the message, he answered, “I don’t know.” That response led to a series of questions with the same response…I don’t know. He was guilty of checking the box, marking something off his To Do List and not following up to see if the message was delivered and understood.  This book is written in an easy, quick to read style.

"Women, Wealth, & Giving: The Virtuous Legacy of the Boom Generation" by Margaret May Damen & Niki Nicastro McCuistion, 2010

The authors take a close look at women and giving and how “the women effect” is changing the philanthropic world. The stories included in this book will change the way women and fundraisers look at the giving culture of women.
